Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m one of the final years who sat for the exams in the Mary’s Sports Hall today. I just wanted to ask if it would be possible to change seats as I was seated right next to the door today. I’m sure it happens EVERY year, because people HAVE to sit next to the door, but I really cannot concentrate. I had to stop working, put my pencil down for twenty minutes because the doors were opening and closing (with a creak I might add) every fifteen seconds – or even MORE frequent!!! It happened at a peak at about 1 hour into the exam, when the paper was getting difficult and people were getting frustrated that they couldn’t do them, or their bladders were at their limits, it happened ALL at once. I’m not exaggerating, you can confirm it with the invigilators as well. What I don’t understand is why some people have to go to the toilet five times, I counted, because I wasn’t able to concentrate at all. My colleagues around me feel the same way.
I had the invigilators leave the door open because the opening and closing of the doors were just too much to deal with, with people walking in and out. The distance between my desk and the door were perhaps two desks away, and it really is so distracting, and it really isn’t conducive at all. I know people have to sit near doors for every exam, but I was wondering if you could please rotate and swap people around or more my desk to the front of the room – anything. Please.
Thank you,
