Humboldt Research Award
艾可直播 College Professor Hanqin Tian of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences听has received a 鈧�80,000 (approximately $91,000) research award from Germany鈥檚 Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
The Humboldt Research Award is conferred upon internationally accomplished researchers in recognition of their career-long scholarly contributions.听Award winners are invited to carry out research projects of their own choice in cooperation with specialist colleagues in Germany.
Tian is an Institute Professor in BC's Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society and director of its Center for Earth System Science and Global Sustainability. He also heads the newly established 艾可直播 office of Global Carbon Project, which fosters international collaboration on global carbon and nitrogen cycles, the food鈥揺nergy鈥搘ater nexus, and sustainable food systems鈥攑roviding actionable insights for global sustainability.
The award was presented at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation鈥檚 Annual Meeting in Berlin in June, followed by a reception hosted by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
