Data Visualization Lab

The Data Viz Lab (DVL) is located at 245 Beacon, room 231.

The DVL currently supports geospatial research in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department and the School of Social Work at 艾可直播 College.

The Data Visualization Lab is funded by the Center for Integrated Environmental Systems Research (CIESR), created in partnership with the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department, the Schiller Institute, and the Engineer Research & Development Center at the US Army Corps of Engineers.

The space has 6 high-powered computer workstations, a remote server, secure data storage, as well as 4-K resolution monitors, an 8-K resolution video wall, an augmented reality sandbox, and a VR headset. Current software includes ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, QGIS, Matlab, Python, Adobe Creative Suite, Agisoft Metashape, Pix4Dmatic, and Drone2Map. We also conduct UAV (drone) mapping, using photogrammetry and structure from motion to build high resolution georeferenced 2D and 3D models.
