A week in the life of Suan in Penang
For Cheryl and Kristy and May, so then you guys can pretend you’re here with me :)
It took me three different goreng pisang shops because I was finally redirected to the fourth stall which had some. Apparently, all the bananas in Penang are NOT YET RIPE, will only ripen on Saturday - so there were NO BANANA FRITTERS. I don’t understand.
And also some ice cream to go with it....
Gravel
Sometimes I envy those who take the path less trodden, the road less travelled, park their car on the side road ten streets away from the mall. Instead, I flock with the sheep, travel the conventional route, I go to the multi-storey mall carpark on a Sunday afternoon.
I feel like I’m on a never-ending chase for a piece of paper. Now that I’ve got one, what do I do? Chase another piece...
A thought
I don’t know why the culmination of sixteen years of education produces only a luke-warm sensation in me.
Actually, I lie.
I know why. But knowing why doesn’t make me feel any better.
