Time for me
Like a dog that isn’t very thirsty, the waves slowly lap at the shore below me, rhythmic and soothing. I close my eyes and smile as the cool breeze gently caresses my face. I take in a deep breath and realise, for the first time in about 9 days, I am alone. Truly, I am. By myself.

How funny am I
Today, the three of us walked up to our consultant who was meant to be giving us some teaching. He looked at one of us and said ‘You look really sleepy!’. She had disheveled hair and small Korean eyes. We had just come from theatre where the caps we wear have static electricity, messing it up when we take it off later.

How to drive on the other side of the road
Well prepared for my outing with the ambulance service, I popped an ondansetron 30 minutes before to make sure I would definitely NOT be car/ambulance/metal box sick. For the first six-ish hours, I was all over the place in the back of the ambulance. I could stand. I could hop on to the three different chairs and not be sick.
